Let it snow, let it snow

So on Saturday along with the rest of the UK we battled our way through the snow. It completley covered the whole of Berkshire with roughly about a foot of snow outside our warehouse. It wasn’t going to be the easiest of days seeing as though it was the busiest Saturday in December for parties and events. The snow certainly didn’t help!!!!! What is normally a 20 minute drive turned into a 2 hour trip. The journey into London wasn’t going to be any easier! So much so we decided to leave with plenty of time.

We were providing a Video DJ and Video Disco system for Paul & Sarah’s wedding reception at One Whitehall Place in Central London, overlooking the Embankment and the Thames.

Despite the weather and traffic, we survived another day and had a really good party, which all of the guests enjoyed before braving the outdoors and even more snow. It was the only time I have ever seen a cloakroom at a wedding reception filled with wellies, scaffs, hats and overcoats.

Paul and Sarah sent us this mail on the Sunday,

Paul and I just wanted to say thank you for being so completely amazing yesterday. You went way beyond the call of duty to pull off the DJ party of the century! A couple of people asked if you were a friend because they felt everything was so personalised and you were such a nice guy....I said yes because genuinely it feels like you are. Leaving at 10am despite only getting home at 4am to battle through the snow and make sure you made it meant so much. You listened so carefully to what we wanted - despite it being rather quirky and offered your expertise to make our ideas work in practice. We made a lot of enquiries when planning our wedding as the music and evening entertainment was so important to us. I can honestly say no other DJ comes close to you. You offer something completely different and it worked perfectly for us. Thank you so so much.

After conference party at the BFI, Southbank London

300 guests came down to the Riverside Restaurant at the BFI for an after-conference party that ran from 5.00pm - 12 Midnight. We provided a video DJ and a video disco together with a party photographer.

Wedding Party 22/05/2010 Monks Barn, Hurley

The couple spent five weeks in Thailand where they got married.

A select few went out for the wedding. This was the party for the family and friends that couldn't make it! The party was held at the beautiful Monks Barn in Hurley.

We provided a video DJ system and a digital party photographer

We were given over 700 pics from the wedding in Thailand, to screen during reception drinks and the hog roast etc. We then also had a digital party photographer and videographer going around outside (this is where all of the guests were as it was the hottest day of the year!) The groom had made a DVD as his speech which was a 6 min video montage of the 5 weeks in Thailand which worked really well as a finale to his speech. The evening then continued with music videos until 11.30pm.

Thank you both soooo much for an amazing evening on Saturday. Will and I are both so pleased that we decided to use you guys, you really made the night. Everyone was amazed by the technology, all the pictures and everything that you guys did for us.

Thank you again, I will call you this week for a catch up but I cannot explain how great the night was, and how great you guys were.

ADCCT Heaven Sent Ball - Oakley Court Hotel Windsor

SIR MICHAEL AND LADY PARKINSON HAVE A ‘HEAVENLY’ TIME AT
CHILDREN’S CHARITY BALL

Sir Michael Parkinson CBE and Lady Parkinson enjoyed a wonderful evening’s entertainment at the fourth Heaven Sent Ball at Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor on Friday, 7th May, in aid of local children’s charity, Alexander Devine Children’s
Cancer Trust (ADCCT).

Guests were treated to a stirring performance by the Irish Guards (accompanied
by their Irish Wolfhound mascot!), and a comedy slot by the Comedy Virgins.
Martin Edwards, Chief Executive of Julia’s House Children’s Hospice in Dorset,
spoke movingly about how his hospice started, and how he is advising ADCCT
as they work to build the first children’s hospice for Berkshire.

Sir Michael, Founder Patron of ADCCT was delighted to be at the event with his
wife Lady Parkinson: “I am always impressed by the sheer dedication and
commitment of Fiona Devine and her team, and at events such as the Heaven
Sent Ball, it is wonderful to see how many members of the community throughout
Berkshire come together to show support for this wonderful cause.”

Fiona Devine added: “We are so grateful to Sir Michael and Lady Parkinson for
their continued support – they help our charity in so many ways. With their help,
and the backing of the community at large, we are confident that Alexander
Devine Children’s Hospice will soon become a reality for families with children
with life-limiting conditions throughout Berkshire.”

VisualDJ provided the Video Disco together with x6 40" Plasma screens for the auction lot presentations and live camera feeds for all of the acts and entertainment on the night.

The Ascot Charity Ball is a highly prestigious evening, with all the fun and elegance of a special social event. The evening provides an excellent opportunity for impressive entertaining at the Ascot Racecourse. This year the proceeds from the evening will go to:

The evening included a drinks reception, gala dinner, fabulous live entertainment including cabaret from the Three Waiters and celebrity guests. There was a grand auction including holiday destinations and memorabilia, a silent auction and prize draw and finally dancing into the night with a Video Disco.

Thank you so very mucho! Just wanted to thank you and your team for the enormous amount of work you put in for us. It paid off, it was a brilliant night!!! So many compliments.

The Ascot Charitable Trust (ACT) was established following a hugely successful Charity Ball in 2001 in aid of ChildLine, which netted £55,000. It was attended by a host of celebrities, including its distinguished Chairman, Esther Rantzen.
The Trust was set up in 2002 to benefit both national and local charities, community groups and individuals with special needs, who live within the Ascot area. There main fundraising event of the year is the Ascot Charity Ball, which has now become one of the most prestigious charitable functions in the Ascot social calendar. To date, the Trust has raised over £500,000, thanks to your generous and continued support.

50th House Party Perthshire, Scotland

With an early morning start and a 7.5 hour drive upto Perthshire Scotland we were providing a Video Disco for Carole's 50th Party later on that night.

Carole was inviting 60 close friends and family to celebrate her 50th at home with something Perthshire hadn't seen before. Carole was very keen to transform the house into a party venue and create an unforgettable WOW factor.

It was well worth the drive as we were made very welcome and the party goers were certainly on form.

I wanted to tell you how impressed we were with Max and Neil - in fact, impressed is an understatement! They exceeded all our expectations - so professional and so easy to work with.

The feedback from our guests has been incredible - the music, the videos, the lighting and the whole management of the event wowed everyone. They managed to turn our home into a great party venue - it was unrecognizable, which was what I had asked Max to do.

Max and Neil have definitely raised the bar here in Perthshire in terms of parties! We were delighted with what they did and, most importantly, how they did it - the standard was exceptional. We would be happy to recommend them to potential clients.

Hiring an events company in Windsor to deliver a house party in Perth, sourced through an internet search, is a daunting task - I didn't know what or who I was going to get. Max inspired confidence throughout the project, reassuring me that he would deliver - absolutely essential when there is no personal connection or recommendation to fall back on.

In conclusion, thank you for a fabulous event - you should definitely be doing more to market this part of your business!

Hollywood Themed Awards Party

Saturday 10 April 2010 we were asked by the Celebration Roadshow (Mobile disco company) to supply a Video Disco that included all of the AV, sound and lighting for the GAPPAS (Gav And Phil Party Awards Show). The evening was very much a red carpet affair, styled around a Hollywood epic with bespoke Hollywood visuals for the x2 projection screens and x6 plasmas. The event took place at Tortworth Court in Gloucestershire for 150 Black Tie Guests. We provided a digital party photographer for reception drinks and the red carpet entrance. The Video DJ system was used for the awards slide show with live camera feeds of the guests as they collected there awards. After the awards, guests ate and then took to the dance floor for the rest of the evening with the Video Disco.

I can't thank you, Neil & Adam enough for what you guys did for us on Saturday! I couldn't have imagined it being so good & working so well! I was literally speechless when I walked in the room at 7 o'clock, and I'd planned most of it! Neil's colour scheme was perfect. People will be talking about it for a long time to come.
I know my feet won't touch the floor for several weeks. As for the visuals, they were superb! I can't believe how quick Phil turned things from written spec into finished footage.

Wedding Reception 26/03/2010

Some before and after shots of the wedding from last weekend 26/03/2010 at St Hugh’s College in Oxford. We started installing on the Friday night as everything needed to be set up by early Saturday morning. We installed a room lighting system and video disco into the College Dining Hall. On the Saturday we were then hired to film the ceremony at Magdalen College Chapel and then back at the reception at St Hugh’s. We then provided the video disco in the evening until 12 Midnight.

British Airways - Concorde Club

A charity night hosted by Lionel Vinyl. With special guests Rose Royce vocalist Gwen Dickey and auctioner Ricky Groves star of Strictly Come Dancing and Eastenders.

18th Party Hot and Cold Theme

Private 18th Party in a Marquee. Event managed and produced by Penguins 200 guests. The party was themed as Hot and Cold. Penguins supplied LED Poser Tables, LED Bars, Hot & Cold Theming all sound and lighting production for the event.

House Warming Party

A Video DJ at a private client's house spread over x3 rooms. We lit x2 rooms and provided a video DJ system in the third with additional plasma screen delays to the x2 chilled out areas.

Party in Lincolnshire Saturday 20/02/2010

A first for us! A party for 15 young adults to celebrate Scarlet's 11th Birthday. 6.00pm - 9.00pm held in a kitchen of a private house. The travel to and from the event actually lasted longer than the event. A great crowd of very pleasant young ladies, who were treated to 3 hours of music videos, paparazzi and live camera feeds.

Wednesday 10/02/2010 Science Museum London

Launch party for Virgin Business Media for 600 Guests on behalf of PSP.We provided Video DJ system and x2 Plasmas screens in front of the booth. Main acts performing on the night, were Escala String Quartet (from Britain's Got Talent and Scouting for Girls.

Friday 15/01/2010 Birmingham Metropole

Thankfully the snow has disappeared! We made our way up to Birmingham Metropole straight from the Reading Town Hall event. Thankfully we were working for another event and production company so all of the sound /lighting and AV was installed. We used all of our own control gear and provided the mad and fab Fergus on Percussion.

He really has the biggest percussion rig!
2 x congas,
1 x pair of bongos,
1 x chime tree,
1 x pair of Timbales,
2 x cymbals,
1 x doumbek,
A lot of toys; shekere, tambourines etc etc.

It's great working with a percussionist as it looks and sounds great. He played pretty much all of our set from 10.30pm - 01.30am. I think that his hands were red raw by the end of the set!

New Year Party

So like most people we soldiered on and made our way through the snow and Ice and travelled mob handed to Reading, Berkshire for a New Year Party.

Penguins Events were staging an event for 400 guests and luckily we had a day before get-in which helped with staggering all of the trucks to and from site in the adverse weather conditions.

Broom in hand and pathway into the venue cleared, three trucks magically unloaded themselves hassle free up into Reading Town Hall courtesy of Gallowglass crew.

The New Year Party was to be an informal affair with the emphasise on good food, live music and good wine in great surroundings.

We worked in four spaces within the Town Hall, heavily concentrating on the main stage in the The Great Hall .

Entertainment on the main stage included The 10 –piece Empire State Band, The 6-piece Bogus Brothers Band. I Production Managed the event as well as arranging the on-stage Video DJ on a 4m x 3m LED Wall and x6 Plasma Screens around the venue. We then had a VJ overseeing all of the visuals from the balcony mixing live cameras and visuals and corporate branding, during the bands sets.

The party ran from 6.30pm – 12 Midnight when guests had to venture outside into the big freeze. A great gig!
